Commencement Map

Hanover College’s 188th Commencement is scheduled to be held in person Saturday, May 29, 2021. An outdoor ceremony is planned at Alumni Stadium where all seniors and guests will attend, however, conditions could warrant the need for two (2) smaller indoor ceremonies. If moved indoors, two (2) ceremonies will be held (10 a.m. and 12 p.m.) at the Horner Center, Collier Arena, where 50% of seniors and their guests will attend each session to limit crowd size. Registration is required and your choice of 10 a.m. or 12 p.m. will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each Senior will have the opportunity to invite four (4) guests to attend, social distancing and masks will be required at all locations. One (1) ticket will be ordered by each senior which will allow up to four (4) guests into the event. Seniors will receive an email with registration information and a link for all Commencement weekend events.

Friday, May 28, 6 p.m. (EST): Baccalaureate-Horner Center, Collier Arena

Baccalaureate is a farewell address, in the form of a sermon, given to the graduating class and guests led by The Rev. Dr. Catherine Y.E. Knott, Ph.D., Ball Family Chaplain.  Seniors will receive an email with a registration link.   

Friday, May 28, 7 p.m. (EST): Senior Celebration hosted by the Office of Alumni Relations

Seniors! Save the date for your Senior Celebration as the Office of Alumni Relations hosts a special evening just for you. Enjoy a variety of fun activities, live music, food, drinks, and raffle items that will help you as you begin your next journey. You will also receive your Alumni ID Card and find out who your honorary class member is! More information will be sent to seniors via email. We look forward to welcoming you to the Hanover College alumni family.

Saturday, May 29, 8 a.m. (EST): Legacy Photos, The Point

As the final step in our Legacy Program, only seniors who are a Hanover College legacy will have the opportunity to have a professional photo taken prior to graduation. What is a legacy? A legacy is a sibling of, child of, or grandchild of a Hanover College graduate.

The Office of Alumni Relations will then email the photo(s) to the family. Photos will be taken in five-minute increments beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 9:30 a.m. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis and are completed online.

An outdoor ceremony is planned at Alumni Stadium for the Class of 2020 where all seniors and guests will attend. If conditions warrant moving indoors, we will move to Horner Center, Collier Arena. Each Senior will have the opportunity to invite four (4) guests to attend, social distancing and masks will be required at all locations. One (1) ticket will be ordered by each senior which will allow up to four (4) guests into the event. Seniors will receive an email with registration information and link.
