Dalton tackles team-of-the-week recognition

Senior linebacker Andy Dalton has been selected to D3football.com’s team of the week after leading Hanover College's football squad to a 47-14 victory against Defiance College (Ohio) Oct. 20.

The web site has selected its team of the week for the past 14 seasons as an opportunity to highlight the top performances by position in NCAA Division III football.

Dalton posted 14 tackles, including 13 solo stops and a tackle for loss, along with an interception, fumble recovery and a pass deflection to spark Hanover in its win against Defiance.

This season, he leads the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and ranks fifth in NCAA Division III with 13.0 tackles per game. He has totaled 91 tackles, with 6.5 tackles for loss, and also has three fumble recoveries.

Hanover has won five consecutive games. The Panthers are 5-2 overall and 5-0 in the Heartland Conference heading into an Oct. 27 clash with Earlham College.

Hanover will host the Quakers in the College's 85th-annual Homecoming game. The HCAC game will kick off at 1:30 p.m. at L.S. Ayres Field.
