Senior Becky Roberts (Avon, Ind.) led Hanover College’s women’s golf squad to a second-place finish at the Hanover Invitational. The 36-hole event wrapped up Sunday, Sept. 9, with 18 holes at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Ind.
Roberts fired a six-over-par 79 in the second round and placed second overall among 63 athletes with a 157 (78-79).
Hanover posted a 668 (331-337) to finish second out of eight schools in the tournament. The Panthers tied with Marian University (333-335). Both landed behind Indiana Tech, which totaled a 655 to win the team championship by 13 strokes.
Sophomore Brooke McKay (Carmel, Ind.) finished fourth with a two-day total of 160 (78-82). Freshman Brittany Mosteller (Indianapolis, Ind.) was 20th after shooting a 176 (91-85) and junior Sloane Hamilton (Mason, Ohio) was one shot behind in 22nd place with a 177 (84-93).
Indiana Tech’s Megan Garrison was medalist with a three-over 148 in the tournament. Garrison led after the first round with an even-par 72 and closed with a 76.
